This Bike Tour takes you to discover the modern areas of Santiago de Chile, where you will pedal alongside the main parks and bike paths that border the Mapocho River. Conclude the tour with a visit to the tallest building in South America: SKY Costanera, at sunset.
*This bike tour includes an optional 30 min bike ride up the hill to San Cristobal hill & Metropolitan Park trails. After the ride up, enjoy a 1 hour ride down the hill along the paved trails and bike paths of the city until we make our way back to the starting point Baquedano.*
We start the tour at Huaso Tours Offices: El Comendador 2060, and first visit the Barrio Bellavista to discover the museum "La Chascona" - the house of the national poet Pablo Neruda. Next, we will continue our ride along the Balmaceda and Uruguay Parks, until we make our way to the Sculpture Park; an open air museum for sculpture arts, where we will have a small stop to take photos of this panoramic place.
We will continue the bike ride passing by the Costanera Center and the Financial District of Santiago “Sanhattan”, until we make our way to the Bicentennial Park, where we get to enjoy the cycling trails and discover the lagoons with koi fish, black necked swans and flamingos.
The return journey of the tour is the most entertaining part of the bike ride, and it offers us two route options: 1) alongside the parks and bike paths of Providencia and Vitacura districts (Difficulty level: Easy) 2) for a bit more experienced riders: the Metropolitan Park trails (Difficulty level: Intermediate - Advanced), where we will bike up the hill a 30 minute ride towards San Cristóbal hill and then enjoy a ride down accompanied by a great view of the city.
After finishing the trail, we proceed with the bike route and head towards the Costanera Center where we leave our bikes at the entrance of the building and take the elevator up to the Sky Costanera viewpoint, where you get to enjoy the sunset from a privileged point (40 minute visit). We will return back to our bikes and continue the ride down for another 15 minutes, enjoying the descent alongside the parks and bicycle paths until arriving again in our starting point.
